Google to purge some data after 18-24 months

    I don’t think I’ve ever said they’re totally evil. In fact, I think they’ve done a lot of good. I do think they’ve serially ignored valid privacy concerns, engaged in a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to copyright standards, privacy, and transparency, and constructed terms of use and privacy policies that are necessarily vague on important details.

    This seems like a good first step towards ameliorating that, but it’s just that - a first step. Time will tell if this turns into anything tangible.
