Free Fiona!

I sent around the link to one of the leaked songs off Fiona Apple’s new album, which has apparently been done for a year and a half and is sitting on a shelf at Sony because the boneheads can’t figure out how to market it or something else stupid like that.

Anyway, there’s a campaign being organized to send apple-related things to the guy in charge of this decision on or around January 24th, 2005.

Non-realistic photos

This describes a new technique for taking non-realistic photos with a digital camera and multiple flash exposures. This is very cool – the images look like detailed illustrations, but they accurately capture the actual full contours of the object. This has pretty serious applications in technical illustration and medical imaging, among other things.
