Krugman on the Social Security “crisis”

“Privatizing Social Security – replacing the current system, in whole or in part, with personal investment accounts – won’t do anything to strengthen the system’s finances. If anything, it will make things worse. Nonetheless, the politics of privatization depend crucially on convincing the public that the system is in imminent danger of collapse, that we must destroy Social Security in order to save it.”

Fresh Patents – subject-specific new patent feeds.

Hubmed – Search Pubmed, pick up a feed on all new articles matching the search.

For me, this seems like the kind of thing to use live bookmarks in firefox for instead of bloglines – you may want to follow something for a short time, then delete it.

Cartoon skeletons

The site’s been down for a few days, so I’m just posting this now.

They’re drawings of cartoon characters next to what their skeleton might look like.
